More about me:
I was born in one of the grimier suburbs of north-west London, but I'm not going to tell you when (I apparently look younger than this and want you to think I'm still with it and cool). I now live with a cute Croatian in London’s East End, surrounded by an increasing number of smelly building sites.
I was the first in my family to go to uni. I now have a portfolio career, which is a posh way of saying I have loads of jobs and enough email accounts to make my head nearly explode. Alongside writing, these include helping teenagers sort their lives out (which I've done for fifteen years), managing personal development courses, and teaching yoga.
I have an MA in Creative Writing from Lancaster Uni. I once won i-D Magazine's Young Writer of the Year competition for my autobiography in 750 words (I still have nightmares about my mum seeing it). I used to be a music journalist for Mixmag. My teenage novel, Spoilt, was longlisted for the Mslexia Children's Novel Competition.
In my spare time, I like running by the Thames and watching psychedelic guitar bands in dingy basements (because I'm still with it and cool).
